    An IFMGA Mountain Guide, Lars specializes in Risk Assessment, Safety Management and International Travel stemming from twenty years of managing groups, operations and working in the world’s most remote, wild terrestrial, and marine environments. Lars’ introduction to the film and television industry was with managing safety and race course development with the 1995 adventure race show, “Eco-Challenge.” This was the precursor to what we now know as “Reality Television.” His involvement since then has been varied, working extensively in safety, location scouting and risk assessment and evolving to show development and production.

    Philippe “Phil” Gautier

    Phil has worked as a professional avalanche forecaster and has been ski guiding and running adventure skiing expeditions for over 15 years on 6 continents as well as consulting with guiding companies to build their operational risk management plans in South America, Japan and Canada. He has been involved in numerous adventure television shows in various countries in different aspects ranging from research, scouting and field producing to embedded safety and safety consultancy.

    Brian is a bestselling guidebook author and award-winning adventure photographer. His thirty year career in the mountains has seen him working in avalanche control and mountain rescue in Canada, Alaska and Switzerland as well as guiding rivers internationally for white-water and flyfishing clients. Brian stepped into the realm of adventure television production with roles producing, rigging and providing production safety on “Survival of the Fittest”, “World’s Toughest Race – Eco Challenge”, “Race to Survive” as well as the “Survivor” and “Alone” franchises.

    Kevin Hodder

    Senior Production Consultant/Challenge Producer

    Kevin Hodder has extensive experience in sport and television production. He has worked on seven previous Eco-Challenge expedition races and served as the Venue Operations Manager for Whistler Olympic Park during the 2010 Winter Olympics. Hodder was the Co-Executive Producer of Million Dollar Mile from Lebron James’ Springhill Entertainment (CBS), where he was responsible for designing the race course and obstacles. He previously worked with Bear Grylls as the Supervising Producer for Get Out Alive (NBC). Hodder lives in Whistler, BC, where he is either skiing, climbing, trail running or cycling daily.

    Francois-Alexis “Frank” Renaud

    Frank was drawn out west about 10 years ago pursuing his love for the mountains. He is now an ACMG apprentice ski guide and is proud to call Pemberton, BC home. Risk being inherent in pretty much everything he does, over the years, Frank has developed an acute sense for how to manage it, which led him to be involved in numerous risk, safety and wildlife consulting positions with different major production companies in both terrestrial and marine environments.

    Steve has worked in the adventure tourism and film industries for over 25 years. He has worked as a guide, business owner and Expedition Leader from Antarctica to the North Pole and several places in between. Steve joined the team at Whitecap in 2018 working in both marine based and safety roles.

    Originating from South Africa but calling Canada home - Casey has always been surrounded by the ocean. With a background in Marine Biology, Casey splits her time between guiding on Expedition Ships in the Polar Regions and working in the film industry for Whitecap as a boat captain. In her time off Casey and her husband Steve live on their 50 foot aluminum sailboat in New Zealand.

    Assistant Safety/Assistant Expedition Guide

    Braeden is a Canmore based ACMG apprentice alpine guide. He has been working full time as a guide for most of his adult life, which has brought him to remote locations all over Canada. He studied Adventure Guiding at Thompson Rivers University, where he received training in a wide range of skills, from swift water rescue to avalanche safety to high-angle rope rescue. He spends every moment of his free time climbing or skiing.
    He loves the fast paced dynamic environments that guiding and safety work provide.

    Colleen is a long-time Squamish entrepreneur and foodie, best known as co-founder of The Zephyr Cafe and a handful of other businesses. She specializes in whole foods made from scratch; producing plant-based, paleo, timeless classics, and everything in between. She's worked with Whitecap since 2014 where she began cooking for clients at the backcountry lodge, and for crew local in film productions. Since 2018, she's headed the food program for Alone.

    Jana grew up skiing in a small mountain town in Czechia and spent several years ski-bumming in the French Alps before she settled down in British Columbia and became an ACMG Ski and Hiking guide. She spends most of her winters heli-skiing and guiding traverses in the spring. Recently she worked as a safety guide and later as race producer on the Race to Survive TV series. Otherwise she hides in the Kootenays enjoying the wild and serves Kaslo Search and Rescue and West Kootenays Regional Mountain Rescue team.

    Tabitha is originally from Calgary where she had a vegetarian restaurant for over 10 years. Making a shift, she decided to move to the Kootenays in 2014 for a work/life balance. Situated now in the Slocan Valley, she still follows her passion for good food and cocktails. Tabitha has been working for Whitecap for 5 years.

    Andrew McNab

    Project Manager / Lead Safety

    Andrew McNab has been working in the outdoor adventure industry for over 15 years as a national level athlete, guide, production safety, risk assessor and adventure producer. Having grown up in the mountains of British Columbia he has a keen sense for what it takes to be safe and productive in outdoor environments. His first foray into the production setting was creating adventure sport content as an athlete and a producer, from which he transitioned into the world of reality tv. First working as embedded safety on the Alone Series, he has gone on to work on a variety of shows for National Geographic, Disney, NBC, History Channel, FOX and CBC. Filling the role as lead safety, location scout, fixer, race producer and challenge producer. When not working in the film industry he works as a heli-skiing and backcountry ski touring guide, certified through the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides.
